William Summerour, MAI joined Murphy Appraisal Services in 2007 and became a partner with the company in 2010. Mr. Summerour serves as Managing Director in our New Orleans Office. He received the MAI Designation from the Appraisal Institute and is presently licensed in Louisiana and Mississippi. His primary areas of focus include larger scale investment properties such as net lease properties, shopping centers, apartment complexes, student oriented housing, office buildings, hotels, and historic properties.

Prior to joining Murphy Appraisal, he served as an Emergency Management Planner for the URS Corporation. In that capacity, he worked an array of post-Hurricane Katrina recovery assignments, including the development of the new City of New Orleans Assisted Evacuation Plan.

Mr. Summerour graduated from the University of Virginia School of Engineering in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in systems and information engineering. Prior to attending the university, he was valedictorian of his graduating class at Isidore Newman School in New Orleans. He currently resides with his wife and two daughters in New Orleans. Mr. Summerour sits on the board of the Regional Loan Corporation and serves on the Jefferson Scholarship Foundation. He also spends time volunteering with Carrollton Boosters as well as the Garden District Neighborhood Association. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family.
