Rick Murphy

Rick Murphy has worked in real estate in the greater New Orleans area since 1984. In 1991, he founded Murphy Appraisal Services, LLC, a full-service appraisal firm that currently has offices throughout Louisiana.

A state-certified general real estate appraiser in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, and North Carolina, Mr. Murphy also has a real estate brokerage license in Louisiana. He holds the SRA and MAI designations from the Appraisal Institute. He previously served as head of the New Orleans Sub Chapter of the Appraisal Institute as well as a member of the Regional Ethics and Counseling Panel and the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Chapter of the Appraisal Institute.

Mr. Murphy attended Moeller High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Louisiana State University. His hobbies include golf, hunting, fishing and travel. Mr. Murphy and his wife Lori live in Covington.  They have two grown daughters.

Chris Smiroldo

Chris Smiroldo

Chris Smiroldo graduated from Louisiana State University with a bachelor’s degree in Advertising/Liberal Arts in 1994.  After working in retail management for four years, Chris received his Louisiana realtor license in 1999 followed by his Louisiana State Certified Residential Appraiser designation in 2001.

Mr. Smiroldo currently resides in Mandeville, LA with his wife Hether and their children, Cole, Jake, and Kaylee.  He retains two office locations in Metairie, LA (Southshore Office) as well as Covingnton, LA (Northshore Office).  Chris’s appraisal career began in the Baton Rouge and Hammond markets but now appraises primarily in Orleans, Jefferson, and St. Tammany Parishes as his primary markets.  Secondary markets include:  St. Charles, St. Bernard, St. John, St. Charles, St. James, Plaquemines, Tangipahoa, Ascension, and Livingston Parishes.

Chris grew up in Orleans and St. Bernard Parishes, spent 13 years in Baton Rouge, LA, and has resided in St. Tammany Parish since 1998.  He is therefore well versed in residential appraisals of all types including: multi-million dollar historical homes, condominiums, multi-family residences, vacant land appraisals, etc.  Although a large portion of the appraisals he performs pertain to mortgage financing, he also specializes in foreclosure appraisals, individual property valuations, as well appraisals for legal proceedings such as successions, divorces, and insurance claims litigation.  Extracurricular activities include hanging out with his kids at the ballpark (almost non-stop), boating, exercise and vacations “whenever we can squeeze them in”. David LaBalle

David W. LaBalle

David joined Murphy Appraisal Services in 1994 and has been a Louisiana Certified Residential Appraiser since 1997. Appraisal experience includes single family and multi-family properties, condominiums and vacant land in south eastern Louisiana. In 2009 David was approved and added to the FHA Appraiser Roster.

With the exception of service in the U.S. Marine Corps, David is a life long resident of New Orleans. Extracurricular activities include Competitive Service Rifle shooting and a for the past 18 years a volunteer Range Safety Officer at the Honey Island Shooting Range in the Honey Island Wildlife management Area near Slidell, La.

Todd Fitzmorris

Todd R. Fitzmorris

Todd R. Fitzmorris is a St. Tammany Parish native and a graduate from Mandeville High School. Mr. Fitzmorris graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a bachelor’s degree in management with a minor in marketing in 1989. Mr. Fitzmorris joined Murphy Appraisal Services in July of 1998 and is a Louisiana state-certified residential real estate appraiser and is a Louisiana licensed real estate sales person.  He is based in our Covington office specializing in property valuations of residential properties including single-family homes (existing and new construction), multi-family properties and vacant residential land (lots and acreage) in the parishes of St. Tammany, Tangipahoa and Washington.  Mr. Fitzmorris has performed property valuations for a wide array of purposes including but not limited to home purchases, refinance, PMI removal, property settlement, succession purposes, and is often hired by real estate agents to assist with their listings.

Mr. Fitzmorris currently resides in Mandeville, Louisiana with his two sons, Robert and Patrick.  He is a member of St. Timothy Methodist Church in Mandeville.  Extracurricular activities include spending time with his children and enjoying the great outdoors of boating, hunting and fishing.

Vicki Beverage

Victoria A. Beveridge

Victoria has lived in St. Tammany Parish for the last 35 years and has been appraising residential properties since 1986. It all started when her mother-in-law wanted to sell real estate but didn’t want to do it alone. Victoria orginally became a licensed Real Estate agent under Fallon Realty. She moved to Paul Gasser Real Estate between1989-1996 and began appraising on a full time basis. During this time Victoria became a certified residential appraiser for the state of Louisiana.  Victoria began appraising for Murphy Appraisal Services in 1997.

Victoria is based in the Murphy Appraisal Services Covington office at 19411 Helenberg Road, Suite 204,where she performs residential appraisals in St. Tammany, Washington and Tangipahoa Parishes and in Mississippi. Properties appraised in Mississippi are made under the supervision of Richard Murphy. Victoria’s concentrated experience is in appraising vacant lots, large parcels and estate-type properties for banks, relocation companies and attorneys.

Victoria resides in Covington and enjoys gardening, music, art, spending time with friends and watching the Saints and LSU football.

Dina McCarty

Dina McCarty is a state-certified residential appraiser.  Since joining Murphy Appraisal Services in 2005, Dina has been based in the company’s Metairie office.  Miss McCarty currently performs appraisals  in Plaquemines, St. John the Baptist, St. Bernard, Jefferson, Orleans, St. Charles, East Baton Rouge, Terrebonne and Lafourche Parishes.  Over the course of her career, Dina has completed many residential, condominium, multi-family, and vacant land appraisals for a diverse roster of area banks, mortgage companies, credit unions, and attorneys.    Although mainly completing appraisals for  mortgage financing, she also specializes in foreclosure appraisals and individual property valuations.   Miss McCarty graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in 2001 and a master’s degree in 2003 and currently resides in Uptown New Orleans.

Haley D. Hernandez

Haley D. Hernandez is a native of Ponchatoula, LA. She joined Murphy Appraisal Services in January of 2013 and is a Residential Real Estate Appraiser Trainee. Haley works in our Hammond office and covers all areas of Tangipahoa, Livingston, Washington, East Baton Rouge, Ascension and surrounding areas. Haley has over 10 years of real estate experience as she previously worked as a loan originator and a wholesale lender before moving into appraising. She is currently actively working towards her Residential Certification.

Haley spends most of her spare time with her daughter, Alona, and her two dogs, Riley and Nelli. She enjoys the outdoors and has a passion for hunting, fishing and spending time with her family.

Ravi Shetye

Ravi Shetye joined Murphy Appraisal Services in 2017 and is a Residential Real Estate Appraiser Trainee. Ravi attended Isidore Newman School and Tulane University. Ravi is a twelve year veteran in the Real Estate Industry, working as an Agent, Appraiser, Investor, and Developer. Ravi prides himself on bringing these experiences to his Appraisal Career. Ravi has built a solid foundation of commercial and residential clients through his advisory services. His specific areas or expertise are computing market values of properties, investment opportunities, and Development.

Ravi is a lifelong resident of the New Orleans and surrounding area with experience in the markets of Central and Northern Louisiana as well.

Ravi spends his spare time with his wife and three year old daughter Ava. Ravi is an avid sports fan, specifically supporting the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers.
